V0.530 - Major update
Dev Blog – v0.530 Update: A Smoother, Faster, Smarter Arena
Gladiator Command v0.530 is here — and it’s all about refinement, clarity, and speed. With your feedback, we've implemented a broad set of improvements across UI, combat flow, sound, tutorial systems, and performance. Here's what’s new:
📝 UI & Accessibility Improvements
-
Text Scaling Added
You can now scale text up to 160% for better readability. If you need more, let us know — we’ll go higher if necessary. -
Main Button Realignment
The core action button is now centered in most scenes, giving the UI a cleaner and more consistent feel. In daily summary scenes, it stays off to the side to prevent accidental day skips and aligns with gold/prestige icons for visual clarity. -
Consistent Button Sizing
We’ve standardized button sizes across the entire game for a more polished interface. -
Clickable Elements Added
Many previously static UI pieces are now interactive — navigation just got easier.
🔊 Audio & Settings Updates
-
Sound Options Are In
The game now starts with music and SFX at 4% volume by default — adjustable all the way to 0%. You can now fine-tune the audio experience to your liking. -
Balanced Audio
Music and sound effects have been rebalanced for a more even, immersive feel. -
Fight Speed Memory
Your preferred combat speed now persists across sessions.
⚔️ Combat Overhaul
-
Battle Log On by Default
You now always see the battle log — no need to toggle it manually. -
Less Awkward Movement
Excessive and slow animations have been removed. Fights now feel snappier and more direct. -
Reduced Base HP
Gladiators now recover health much faster between days. This change, combined with the trimmed-down movement, drastically speeds up combat, removing the need for a “Skip Fight” button. -
New Skill: Raging Bull
A fast-charging move that lets Strength-focused gladiators close the distance fast. Requires 5 Strength. Animation is currently placeholder — we’ll polish it soon. -
Stance System Rework
Previously, stances used percent-based stat bonuses only, which made early stat gains feel underwhelming. Now, stances offer flat bonuses at lower levels, transitioning into percent scaling at higher levels — so early growth matters more. -
Universal Fade Transitions
All scenes now use a 0.3 second fade to ensure smooth transitions between gameplay phases.
🧠 Tutorial & Progression Fixes
-
Day 1 Tutorial Rework
The tutorial no longer relies on subtle messages alone. Key guidance is now delivered through clear pop-up windows. -
Energy/Health Warnings
Scheduling a match with low HP or energy now triggers a warning pop-up, preventing accidental suicides. -
Prestige System Clarified
Prestige is now earned through combat victories and explained properly via a pop-up tutorial. -
No More Free Prestige from Fallen Heroes
The old bug that gave players random prestige from Fallen Heroes is gone. Only your own gladiators, with 3+ wins upon death, will be added to the Hall of Fame. -
Recruitment Tutorial Expanded
The Potential system is now clearly explained on Day 1 when viewing the recruit menu.
